I can confirm that children are still most definitely not welcome at this pub. I visited there last week with my four year old son and one of his pals with the hope of having lunch and a few drinks. Within a few minutes of sitting down, the landlord came out to "greet us" with his 2 enormous alsation dogs - the dogs terrified the boys and the landlord told us that if we couldn't control them, he'd ask us to leave. Needless to say, he was back within a minute telling us that we had to go. The pub is situated next door to Odds Farm Park - a great farm and outdoor play area that attracts a lot of families with young children. I'd have thought he could do a good deal of trade with young families if he simply allowed them to stay! Not recommended.

Don't even think about entering this pub with children/pushchairs. Not only are you not to be made welcome, but are also informed of the fact of the 'no pushchair rule' rather embarrassingly at the bar despite no signage to specify this! Apparently they're going up sometime soon, but we weren't psychic that day. There also was little help from the bar worker with the short hair and glasses (maybe the landlady, who knows), who continued to bury her head in the cutlery cabinet rather than help me out with my 'cumbersome pushchair'. 'Never seen a smile out of her yet', my husband says who goes their for business lunches. Roll on the smoking ban with a children's play centre next door. I see trouble ahead...
