lovely food, a pity the service is so damn poor. We were left for nearly an hour before we could order. I was starving. After waiting for half an hour or more to order our sweet, I was totally fed up and we left. An apology for the wait would have been nice, as would a smile. We won't inconvenience the staff by our presence again.

I visited this this bistro for the first time last month after recently moving to the area and i just had to write a review! My first impressions were not good with unhelpfull/unprofessional staff, but once we were showed to our dining table things changed for the better!the waiting staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble!as for the food i had the rack of lamb served with a parsnip gratin and watercress to be honest it was one of the best meals i have ever had!for desert i went for the bread and butter pudding served with custard which would give my mothers recipe a run for its money!all in all i would strongly recommend this place because the food is of a high standard

The Swan never ceases to delight with it's intimate charm and warm and friendly staff. THe Piri Piri Prawns are fantastiv and large portions but could have had more bread to accompany them. The Riibs are by far the most fantastic thing on the menu I have eaten them on numerous occasions and everytime my mouth waters at the thought of tatsing them again, the plate is overhanging with Ribs chips and a generaous salad all of which is washed down with a selection of lagers and beers and a decent bottle of wine froman extensive list.
Price is on a par with other Bistros but the wquality and size of the meals is unrivalled.
You wont get an atmosphere like this in a gastropub, the swan has something they dont originality......

The food is fab. You could spend all night just eating your way through the list of starters.
The smoked salmon on Rosti/potatoe cakes is also available as a main and I have eaten that several times and its always great.
The staff are also always there for you.
The pub section is livley and entertaining, just listen to the locals talking about life in the country.
Always want to go straight back.
