We visited yesterday for Sunday lunch and had a terrible meal. After being told that they did not have any Sunday Roasts we ordered off the menu. One meal was fine as it had to be freshly cooked. The other was cold, vegetables not fresh but frozen and the potato tasted like Smash. We asked for another meal and this time it was hot - just out of a microwave. There was little taste and no gravy. Service was poor, the bar counter and tables were dirty and sticky and no one really seemed to care. As we left we saw the chef in the kitchen smoking, he stepped outside when he saw us watching him. Was this a one off? I am not sure.

Nice relaxed atmosphere to eat or have a drink. Cosy inside and small courtyard for eating outside, now with high fences to shield the view/noise of the dual carriageway.
Food:
Good quality food and drink, plenty of variety. Quality has improved in the last few months.
Price:
A bit more expensive than usual pub food, but generally worth it for the quality
however...
Service:
Pretty bad. Usually not enough bar staff. Both times I've been recently at lunch time and it hasn't been busy but someone's food has been forgotten. No checking that you're ok or that everyone has their food. Big gaps between courses - we had to ask for our desserts after waiting 25 mins after finishing mains. No apology for the delay.
Go for a nice meal and atmosphere, but be prepared to ask for your food when you are inevitably forgotten about.
