My husband and I called into the White Bear in Tewkesbury yesterday on the way to freinds.
We used to use it a lot years a go. However they suffered greatly during the great flood and had to be completly gutted.
It has now been refurbed to live with the floods (as it cannot get insurance anymore)and it is a realy welcoming family run pub.
I descirbed it to a friend as a great big comfort blanket. It reminds me of the old traditional British Pub.
They serve great bear and even better cider.
We were enjoying a pint when the landlord came roud with roasted chestnuts for every one.
It has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and is well worth a visit.
