What a find! We loved the way the comprehensive menu was obviously ever changing. I had the locally sourced Wild Boar Steak from Offham and it was fantastic. My wife had Birling pheasant crown with Rhubarb and Ginger - she was so pleased with her choice. The homemade dessert board was full of mouthwatering delights. I plumped for the Chocolate Torte with Fresh Raspberries (and an extra scoop of Kentish raspberry ice cream) and my good lady had the warm Apple Strusel - not a packet in sight, clearly! The candlelit dining room was a pleasure to eat in and with so much to look at on the walls and the ceiling you could never get bored here. The owners obviously love their pub and their friendly and helpful staff were a breath of fresh from the sulky staff we have found elsewhere. A truly fantastic experience and highly recommended.

We visited after having several good nights out over several years. Only to find new ownership on place.we found menu on a a4 piece of paper,to much on the special board you couldn't read it.No choices for mains.Dessert just ice cream. Waitresses were very in help full when complaining they just shrug you off. Very expensive night and not enjoyed by any.

Our first visit to this pub,we found the staff to be very friendly, the food was hot and lots of it, it was very busy and we had a bit of a wait but when it finally arrived it was worth waiting for, recommended.
