We were recommended by a family member but having read some terrible reviews we were not sure about going. However we are glad we did.
The staff were cheerful and friendly, the food was great and huge portions and a nice warm atmosphere
Would definetly go again and recommend to friends

I visited the Stanley Arms for lunch with friends of mine from out of town. Its always daunting when you recommend a place to eat to friends that dont know the area. On arrival the lady on the bar was most welcoming and informed us of our dining options, either the bar menu; to be eaten in the bar area or conservatory, or the dining room which served a two or three course lunch. We opted for the dining room and again was welcomed by the young lady in charge and seated at a table by the window. The menu was vast and am glad to say everything seemed homemade. Our starters arrived within 10 minutes of ordering and they were delicious. Our main course arrived shortly after our starters had been cleared. I have'nt enjoyed a meal so much for such a long time. I would heartily recommend the Stanley Arms. The atmosphere, price, food and service are second to none.
