This previous review bears no relation whatsoever to the fish house in Chichester. The hotel and restaurant have only recently been opened, and was previously known as the White Hors, to which this review must be referring to.
My husband and I stayed overnight yesterday for our wedding anniversary, and it was outstanding in every way. Luxury accommodation and an amazing restaurant with superb fish and seafood, all freshly prepared everything homemade, even the bread served straight from the oven. One not to miss, an absolute delight and so special in every way.

A stylish inn, set in a beautiful South Downs location.
My scallop Starter (£10.50) comprised three small, tender but tasteless scallops, in a sauce that tasted of nothing but hot double cream. It was served with a large mound of undressed rocket and three pre-cooked, brittle slices of cold bacon. My husband's pigeon-breast Starter was 'OK', though the pastry case was 'cardboardy'.
I was asked how I would like my main course of duck-breast (£17.95)cooked, but it came to the table barely pink. It was quite well-flavoured, but the accompanying sauce of blueberries had little flavour. My husband's 'liver and bacon' main course came with more of the brittle bacon, this time so charred that he sent it back. Within seconds, additional bacon was brought on a separate plate. If one is looking for the EU 'brittle bacon' mountain, one might look no further than the kitchens.
My hot chocolate mousse with orange ice-cream was enjoyable and my husband's pecan pie 'OK'. Service was friendly but not particularly attentive or skilful. We are not habitual complainers about restaurants. However, this is one that charges hefty London prices with no justification. Earlier this week I ate at 'Le Gavroche': with similar pricing, the latter offers far better value-for-money.
