Good Points: The staff were excellent. We changed rooms due to noisy floorboards and a sad, badly in-need of updating room. Moved to newer wing which had a quieter floor but still had a cracked sink. Good location though.
Bad Points: The Beverley Arms is in a very poor order and badly needs some decoration. In our first room the curtains were in tatters (I'm not joking) and the bathroom was dated and the whole look was sad and dingy. Not good value for money considering we could have stayed at a Travelodge for half the price for a better quality room.
General review: Love Beverley, hotel in good location and the staff very efficient and friendly.

Bad Points: Dinner service in the restaurant was slow - was only one waitress.
Television remote needed new batteries - old batteries were weeping indicating that it hadn't worked for some time.
Bathroom light not functioning correctly - needs a new 'starter'
General review: Hotel shows signs of 'faded glory'

Staff rude and unhelpful. Service - especially at breakfast - dire.
Room dirty, window doesn't open, cold..
I could go on. Beverley's own Faulty Towers - avoid it!!

this lovely old hotel is spoilt by staff shortages,it took over an hour to get a pot of tea,and the poor furnishings in the bedrooms, the pillows are years old.Such a pity in such lovely surroundings.
