we visited the Cricketers for our wedding anniversary last night, and what a mistake, the rickety table should have warned us off, but after a bread dip and olive oil starter we waited 40 minutes for a tasty but, in my case severely lacking in pieces of fish, chowder, which at £14 was expensive. We decided to settle the bill and finish our drinks outside, but a 20 minute wait to pay at the bar was too long especially considering that the pub was only averagely busy. It's my 60th birthday next Tuesday and we had been sampling the fayre before we booked for my birthday at their new pub at Blackamoor near Coal Aston, but no way now, will we visit either

I visited Sheffield for a pre-birthday weekend with my daughter and son-in-law and an excellent meal and ambience was spoiled when we found date stones in two desserts of sticky toffee pudding. The manager suggested we contact the supplier of the dates - not acceptable! The only apologies forthcoming were from the waitress, the price of one deessert was deducted from the bill. My son-in-law jarred his tooth on the stone in his pudding. There could at least have been a warning of the likelihood of this on the menu. There were quite a few children present on that evening and if one of them had found a stone, it could have resulted in a choking incident.
