hello, this past weekend i had booked a room for 2 for 2 nights because of looking at the broomhill hotel website... my husband and i were very disappointed! the room we were given was nothing at all like the pictures on the website. the bed was practically on the floor, there was a spare bed with a cover on it against a wall that looked as if it was to be expected to be used as a couch???, not what you would expect in a room that is expecting to be paid £65 on a friday and a whopping £95 for a saturday... the bathroom was very outdated and the hallways were dirty. there were cobwebs in the corners of the skylights in the hallway, there was thick dust on the pictures going downstairs and the staircase and hallway carpets had paint chippings and looked as if they had not been vacuumed in ages. perhaps the cleaner quit??? the chandeleir in the stairwell was dirty as well and the pictures of the longe rooms and bar are nothing like the pictures. i must add a very beautiful presentation on the webside photos but not in real life! we were so disgusted and we were told that this was the best room...room 12. i cannot beleive that you would even let out this room let alone it should be used for a storage room not a bedroom. we felt like we showed up at a friens place by surprise and they quickly made a room up for us!!! my husband and i had checked out immediately. we have stayed in hotels all over the world and have never come across such disappointment. we then went to a hotel which is a moments drive from broomhill hotel and got a lovely room for 2 nights including a full english buffet breakfast, use of all ammenities including pool, sauna, jacuzzi, gamesroom, sun beds etc for £15.00 cheaper than the broomhill hotel. i seriously suggest the management revamps broomhill hotel and be truthful about what they are letting out and advertizing on their website. also the receptionist, a young young man... needs a bit more experience in what he is trying to promote if he thinks that room 12 is the best room at broomhill hotel!
