Good Points: Very friendly service, two problems dealt with quickly and efficiently. Excellent breakfast.
Bad Points: Bedside lamp (on one side) not working on arrival. Sorted by Claire, extremely efficient manageress. Excellent boutique room (No.2), but as there is no natural light (other than skylight), it would benefit from more artificial lighting, eg in front of mirror, as only other ceiling light is small spotlight in front of TV. Other problem was that smoke alarm went off early on Sunday morning after we switched on heater in room (due to accumulated dust over summer?)... but swiftly dealt with by staff. Other guests may not have been happy though!
General review: Very good... would recommend

The White Hart is a gem. If you are looking for cheap accomadation and are not interested in something special, then don't visit here.
My husband and I spent a glorious long weekend at The White Hart. Our room, unlike most bland hotel rooms I have stayed in, was wonderful. It has been recently refurbished and this is certainly reflected in the quality. Maybe they, like many new businesses, experienced teething problems previously? If that was the case I can assure you there was no sign of any during our stay.
As I was saying, our room was wonderful, with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, outstanding decor & an incredibly luxurious en-suite.
The food at The White Hart is outstanding. So much to choose from and perfect if you like decent cuisine. Best of all, the restaurant is very reasonably priced. In fact i'd say it is surprisingly competetive, offering everything from bar snacks, to Sunday lunch, to a slap up meal, all at prices more accustomed to your local Pub.
If you're looking for a lovely place to stay or just somewhere to grab a spot of lunch.. I'd recommend The White Hart to you everytime.

Overpriced and over-rated, with the condition and amenities available, and compared to other hotels in the area. Cold winter air streamed into the room from under the door. No biscuits as mentioned in their room services.
Also stayed at the Novotel Stevenage on 20th to 21st Dec, which was much cheaper and with much better amenities.
