How nice to find this site when I was looking for something else.
The Brokerswood Country Park has always conjured up feeling of peace for me. From the earliest association of my daughter's schoolfriend (Jill) to much later association with dog walks,Christmas trees, Santa Grottos after train rides and Brownie barbeques. One treasure is a photo of me (proud Grandad)with the first three Grandchildren by the side of the lake.
Researching the history of Trowbridge Town Hall I came across a photo of "Roger Brown on his Brokerswood estate". Roger Brown was the donaor of the Town Hall to celebrate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. I wonder if Brown's Brokerswood estate in any way co-incided with the Country Park. Any information on this would be interesting.
Regards to all the Phillips
