We visited this restaurant at the weekend and can assure you that we will not be going back. We found the service to be poor and the waiting staff inexperienced with a poor knowledge of the menu. One of the mains we ordered was Fruit de Mar which was distinctly lacking in flavour, with poor presentation and tasted like it had come straight from the fridge and not the ocean. The other main was Sea Bream that came with side orders of vegetables and fries. The vegetables and fries were soggy and old. When we complained to the waitress she informed us that the vegetables and fries are cooked once a day and are reheated by microwave before serving. They looked and tasted awful. The side salad was old and limp and a real disappointment. How difficult is it to make a simple salad or cook fresh vegetables??? It was my girlfriend’s birthday and eating at this restaurant ruined our evening. The restaurant has a good location and will probably have a steady stream of one time visitors during the holiday season and we believe it is not fair to serve second rate food to tourists. Location alone does not make a good restaurant and people deserve more for their hard earned cash. We visited other restaurants during our stay in Salcombe and they all served delightful food.
