We attended the resturant unannounced, and were greeted by the owner Jenny as long lost friends. The staff were extremely welcoming and were able to accomodate 4 adults and two children.
The meals were served quickly and to the usual high standard that is expected in this establishment. There was no hurry for us to leave and the childrens request for things not on the menu were met (with a smile!!)
A lovely evening again.
Will be back soon.

I have been to this restaurant several times. The food is excellent, home cooked, fresh ingredients, well presented and very tasty. The restaurant is cosy and comfortable and the staff are efficient and very friendly, this bistro has the appropriate name! We love to go there, it feels like going to a friends for dinner.

A party of 21 people gathered at Friends Bistro for a 40th birthday celebration last night. We had ordered a 3-course dinner and coffee. We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed pre dinner drinks in the downstairs bar before being seated at tables upstairs in the restaurant for the meal. I had Roasted Vine Tomato Tartlet for starters followed by Chicken and Stilton Roulade. Both were excellent, if not sublime. I could not fault them, the flavours were superb, just right, not to much, not too little. Vegetables were cooked just right, firm but smoothly textured. For pudding I had the Ice Cream Brulee which was again, superb with a lemony tang under the glazed surface.
Everybody present agreed that the meal was a great success and I congratulate Jenny the Chef who cooked it for us. If I were to dine in Gt. Yarmouth again then Friends Bistro would be my first choice.
