This pub not only falls well below the standard of a gastropub (which it claims to be), but would fail to make it in the 'cheap and cheerful' category. I had lunch there on the 9th October and knew there was something not quite right when I saw the limited menu which was priced up at £4.99 for two course or £5.99 for three (in my experience not the usual price level for fine dining).
I chose the roast of the day (pork) which came with microwaved vegetables, three cook-from-frozen 'roast' potatoes, and a frozen yorkshire pudding - all served without any gravy. The treacle sponge and custard was passable.
Not only was this one of the worst experiences I have had recently, but my complaints to the brewery owners have been ignored. A clear indication that no-one really cares either about the food or the customer.
