We booked at this place for my husband's birthday, which got us a table in their mostly empty and hot basement. Food was sub-par and way over-priced. Service was laughably bad: At one point, the food almost bounced from our plates as they were slammed on the table. I had hoped give my husband a nice birthday dinner, and was very disappointed with our experience here.

Quite a nice Restaurant with a sort of traditional Italian feel. It probably is one of the nicer Italian restaurants in Brighton, but let's be fair Brighton does have a lot of mediocre ones. Although the ambience and service is generally very nice and the food OK some things could have been a little better.
For instance the spagetti a la Vongole was mainly composed of mussels and not clams and those clams that were in their appeared to be out of a tin (at least there were no shells in sight). The food only OK and the price on the high side of moderate. When we questioned the owner on this he pointed us to the menu which mentioned the mussels in small print. Still I thought some clams should be involved. He certainly didn't offer to change the dish. They also included the service charge in the bill even though the printed bill implied they didn't and then they left a space on the credit card form for service. All a bit naught in my opinion.
I had high hopes for this as its supposed to be the best Italian restaurant in Brighton. This may the case but only because the base level is low. I doubt I'll be back as there is better (other types of restaurant) to be had for the same price.
