Because of problems with an hotel I had booked, further south, for the Saturday night, my brother and I drove on and found the Portland Hotel in Lybster and secured a room for the night.
It would be well nigh impossible for any improvement in the service we received, from the moment we approached 'Reception' until we left after an excellent breakfast on the Sunday morning.
Our room was so pleasant, clean and bright; our evening meal could not be faulted. Even the other guests at dinner were friendly and cheery.
This, I feel sure, emanated from the example set by youe staff.
Sadly, we hear so much criticism agin' the so-called 'Scottish hospitality', it is a joy and a delight to write this somewhat long-winded review.
We will certainly visit again if ever in the area and will, with equal certainty, recommend the
.Portkand' to all and sundry.
With many thanks,
Sincerely,
P.M.Munro.
