Whilst appreciating all surgeries are busy, for a patient who is working the appauling system of trying to get an appointment is frustrating and fails to address the patient's needs. It is impossible to book an appointment except the day you need to be seen and this means you have to keep a whole day available until you can get through reception to be told whne you can be seen and by whom. The issue therefore arises about continuity of GP seen and inconvenience of not knowing which doctor you will see and when.
There is no easy to find phone listing and no published fax number or internet connection in the event of a patient's query being able to be dealt with other than by personal contact, again failing to take into account that many patients are busy self-employed or employed individuals who need a service which they can access out of office hours.
When and if you can get an appointnmet the quality of service from the GPs themselves is excellent but the admin leaves a lot to be desired.
