i was really disappointed with the food and the restaurant, i had booked this place through top table especially for my boyfriends birthday after reading the write up on the chef and the cuisine.I also liked the idea of the conservatory. However on arrival we were the only couple in the whole restaurant, and all be it that we were seated in the conservatory it was very cold and although it was october the heating had to be put on by request! There was no ambiance, and a few plants would of been extrememly welcome!! The food was lacking in flavour and flair and not inkeeping with a chef that had won michelin stars..when we mentioned this to the waiter we were told that the original chef had the night off! The portions of the food were enormous and although that may sound good to you it wasnt necessary when indulging in a three course meal - hence we gave up long before dessert.. When the bill arrived we were presented with 10% service charge which we declined on the principle it did not go to the waiters/waitresses and therefore gave our own tip to them void of the bill...after all they didnt cook the food! The coachouse looks beautiful from the outside, how disappointing that it houses such a dreary restaurant...

food was exceptional... Especially the homemade lemon cheese.... Welcome was good and the waiters attentive.. it was worth the journey and to pay that little bit extra for attentive service and good food made it well worth while..
