This is the first review I have written but I was so impressed by our lunch experience on Sunday that I thought I ought not to keep it to myself. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere, warm, friendly, very clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was a carvery with a delicious choice of vegetables all cooked to perfection(£8.95 for adults). The dessert selection though not huge was very original and everybody at our table was delighted with their choice. At £3.00 each we thought it very well priced. This restautrant is certainly worth the drive to get there....but please don't sit in my seat !

We had a wonderul meal at the Pelican last Saturday. I'd really like to thank all the staff there for making it such fantastic night. It's good to see that a village / country pubs can really flourish these days, when so many others get it so wrong. The food and service were absolutely excellent, and good value too, especially considering some of the over-priced rubbish that other pubs in the area serve. I especially liked the new resturant area - it had a fine dining look, but in a really relaxed atmosphere. well recommended
