We have just returned from a visit to mortimers cross inn,we were made to feel very welcome by the new hosts chris and sam, they are a young very hard working couple. The rooms were very nicely furnished, with a very comfortable four poster bed. The room is pleasently decorated and very clean. We had tea and coffe facilities in our room also. In the bathroom there was a shower and a jacuzzi bath, which I found to be very relaxing. The food is VERY good, the menu is extensive , reasonably prices and all locally sourced produce, the portion sizes are huge for the price, nothing seems to be too much trouble for this young couple, we came away having had a very pleasent relaxing time. The extensive beer garden is very well kept with beautiful bushes and plants. I would recommend this establishment to others especially to those who went a few years ago and wern't very impressed, please try it again you will be pleasently surprised

stayed at this inn in february for my husbands 40th birthday couldnt fault anything at all about our stay. the staff were all friendly food was great and rooms were really nice also. the local people really made us feel welcome and we ended up staying extra nights as we were snowed in for a day or too, cant say this was a complaint through. this in is set in the country side ina beautiful setting very relaxing and so pretty with all the snow on the ground. the only thing i was disappointed in was, when we tried to rebook this hotel it had closed down we were gutted as we wanted to bring family members to the inn in the summer time. i see they have just reopened i dont know if the same people are running the hotel if they are it should be really good. hope to go again soon. i would rate this inn at least 4 ****
