A lovely old building showing vestiges of charm, with a tatty new hotel room addition tacked on the back. Our room was quiet as it overlooked a small lane, but the carpet was dirty and gritty, and the lighting in the very dated and barely adequate bathroom was so dingy you could hardly see your face. The overall feeling was that no one cared whether you enjoyed your stay or not. Breakfast was random, with good individually brewed coffee some days, but when the waitress didn't turn up for some reason, you helped yourself to lukewarm coffee in a pot and there was no service to speak of. I wouldn't recommend it, certainly not to North American visitors with high standards of cleanliness and service.
