I stayed here as a short term trip from london for my birthday, and if it wasnt located so close to the beach and town, it would have ruined my birthday all together.... let me explain
I am moving to bournemouth so i wanted to check out the place, and with the budget i had, this seemed like the ideal locartion.
for £125 i paid about....£120 too much. The rooms were grotty, the staff were very unproffesional (Apart from one guy, but we saw him once) the "Internet cafe" is actually there store room that is full of bedding, tools etc, there was blood and what looked like extriments on the walls of the bathroom, the room had not been cleaned, the bar was never open, the hot water was turned on only from 6:30pm - 10:30pm (or am, im not sure, seeing as i never got time to actually use the hot water), the tv remote never worked, they said they would change it and whyen i asked(An hour later) they told me to quit bugging them about it and they will do it in there own time. They gave me a dirty look when i asked for a kettle, they spoke no english and didn't care for the happiness of there customers. i wouldnt even give this hotel a rating, i will never be going here again. Hopefully this place will shut down, the health and hygein is just down right horrible.
Sorry for the essay, i would right more but i dont really want to think about this any longer

I've stayed in a number of ho(s)tels in this country and abroad and this was comfortably the worst. The staff were incredibly unfriendly, the draught beer was off and the breakfast was abysmal. One of our group was smoking outside and literally put his head inside the door to say something to one of the others (they showed us the CCTV of this the next day so I know it was no worse than this) was sufficient for a 50 quid fine. As they had a 100 quid deposit for the key there was nothing we could do about this.
I've not stayed in Bournemouth before and unfortuanately this was the first place that came up on google when I looked for somewhere cheap (which incidentally it wasn't - regardless of the fine). A number of other friends stayed in places nearby which were cheaper, friendlier and nicer. The Kensington was just round the corner and was a tenner cheaper and much nicer. I really really would strongly advise people to think twice before staying here. If everywhere else is booked then I'd either rethink the trip or sleep rough.
