have visited the island most years since 1958 and absolutely love the placemost of my stays have been in castletown one of the best being with the well known lady mrs jelley of the crofts and then the pebbles. have spent hours at scarlett just sat on the rocks at peace with the world and new the visitors centre when it was completely derelict, sadly since it has opened i have never been able to find it open, i have been informed by the tourist board that it run by volunteers and it does have to fit with their availability, however dont let this spoilt a good holiday and have a really nice day up at scarlett, and end it with a pint or two in the gluepot, or the gluey as the locals call it, happy holiday.
