Having eaten on Sundays and various days during the week for the last four years sadly we will not any more, Since
Andy was moved a couple of months ago the pub have rapidly gone down hill.
Sunday the 15th at 2.30pm, no bookings.
Sunday the 8th, 1 roast on the menu and
a very limited choice.
So I feel that the current manager is
not really capable to continue the high
standards which made the pub somewhere
to take friends and family without
worrying whether it would be a successful experience or not.
There is a high level of discontentment
from the waiting staff, some of who have
been there for a number of years

Nice looking place, some staff very friendly food dreadful. We placed our order, beer battered fish and chips for me, mixed grill for my husband. It duly arrived after not too long a wait BUT the food was dire. The chips were soggy the batter was soggy and not cooked inside, the fish was grey. My husband's mixed grill had come up with peas which he had told them he didn't want. The meat, several pieces of which were totally unidentifiable, was burnt black on one side. When the waitress asked if everything was OK, I said no and she asked if I would like her to take it away and get a new one. No apology was offered. The new one was hotter, the chips were crisp but had been seasoned when I had asked for no seasoning and the batter was a bit better, at least it was not raw on the inside. The fish although still of indeterminate origin was at least white this time. The chips tasted as if the oil was badly in need of renewing. All in all a very poor meal and we didn't even bother stopping for a dessert. No apolgy was offered when we made our payment and left, having both of us left more than half our meals. We will not be visiting again nor will we recommend the place as anywhere other than to avoid at all costs.
