We stayed just one night at the victory but wish that we had booked for longer. The view from the balcony is stunning and it's a great place to watch the most amazing sunsets. The staff were attentive and helpful and enthusiastically provided information about the island. The food was excellent, with lots of choice. We will return.

Our room was pleasant, clean and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. The view was lovely. Breakfast was at 9am, but we waited 35 minutes before any food arrived, even though they only had 3 rooms of guests. If you want brown bread, ask for it, we forgot and got some nasty white toast. Breakfast was otherwise ok, apart from a pool of liquid with the poached eggs. We had one evening meal there; not being very hungry I had a chicken caesar salad - something I thought could not really go wrong. It was fairly disgusting and incompetent. Floppy lettuce (surely wrong?) completely drenched in dressing, with a few packet croutons, and two huge scalding hot, fresh from the microwave, chicken breasts dumped on top which were bone dry and tasteless. I often order caesar salad, and have never had an inedible one before. My partner ordered cheese and biscuits, which, bizarrely, was huge, good, and excellent value (but no cooking required.) Strange that these two items came out of the same kitchen. The thing that disappointed me about this place is that, from their website and advertising, they seem to think they are excellent, but it is actually shabby and half-hearted in it's exterior appearance; pots of brown dead plants, nasty plastic hanging fake greenery, tatty garden ornaments on the guests' balcony. The owners are a bit delusional about what they are offering.
