Good Points: It was clean and bright in pleasant but unspectacular grounds
Bad Points: The rear area which was the view from our room was cluttered with overturned tables and remnants of room furniture. Did no-one check the grounds regularly? The room was non-smoking but smelled of smoke when we arrived. Tea and coffe facilities okay but in the wrong part of the room i.e. under our clothes and with no socket nearby.
General Review: The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, as were the bar staff. Our breakfast staff on the first day (Sunday 23rd) were slow in greeting us and asking for our tea/coffee requirements. The cooked food was also slow in arriving when it ran out. Food on the Monday was better and fresher but the staff also seemed to lack urgency although we were greeted and dealt with more quickly. A smile from the staff would have helped, perhaps! Our overall impression was of a Reps' Hotel. Having said that, in general our stay was pleasant and untroubled and, as we were there for the Open golf we really only needed good, clean accommodation and you provided that for us. Thank you.
