Good Points: nice waiters Bad Points: 1. When we arrived to get our family room, instead of a double-bed and two beds for our 2 daughters, there were only a simple bed + a camp-bed added for one of our children.... In fact, it was a bedroom for three people, so it was very tiny for four people. (But we did not get any reduction of price for this inconvenient). 2. The matress of the double-bed was very uncomfy ! 3. We stayed two days in this hotel and we were surprised to see that no cleaning nor beds tidying were done for the second night. Besides, the towels have not been changed during our stay. 4.We were not informed when we booked, that this hotel was also a pub (free house) !!! So, both nights (especially on Saturday night), it was horrible to hear the noise just below our windows !!! People shouting roughly and screaming with laughter, ...till two or three am !!! Very bad nights ! General review: Very bad ! We won't go there another time ! We do not recommend !

Good Points: The breakfast was fantastic-best full English we had had for ages and excellent value. Bad Points: Room was a bit cool although it was way below freezing outside. Once in bed nice and warm but maybe double glazing would help.

I have visited this hotel several times during the last twelve months and have always been very pleased with the service and accommodation. The 'working'owners are extremely professional, and also most friendly and welcoming,as are their staff. The dining facilities are really nice and the food is excellent.I can not think of any other hotel where I have enjoyed my stay as much as I have here. This hotel is well run and is in a lovely position in a lovely part of the country. It's a wonderful place to relax in.

Good Points: The staff and the food quality General Review: The very friendly owners made us all very welcome - including the children. The accomodation was good value for money and there were nice touches such as chocolate frogs on the childrens beds. The food - both evening meal and breakfast - was excellent.

Good Points: Lovely location, friendly atmosphere, helpful staff. Bad Points: Typical English plumbing - the shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold - no in between!!! General Review: A nice old fashioned pub hotel, well run with enthusiasm and an ideal spot for an overnight stay or even a couple of days exploring this wonderful part of England.

Good Points: comfortable. Good position for visiting Lakes and Yorkshire Dales. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. plenty of parking. Large bath. Bad Points: Would have liked a hair dryer in the bedroom. Bedroom furniture slightly dated. Shower would have been nice in the bathroom. General Review: We were happy with the accommodation for 2 nights. Decided not to eat there although menu looked ok, because bar area was lacking in atmosphere. Drove to a pub about 1 mile away where food can definately be recommended.
