I booked the Honeymoon Suite 12 months before our wedding, securing the room with my credit card. I confirmed the booking 4 weeks before our 'Big Day'. On our wedding night we went to the Hotel which was only 2 mins away from our Reception. We arrived at 1.30am, my wife was still in her dress and i was still wearing my suit. The door was locked and it was opened by a member of staff. He asked my name, checked his list, and told us we had no reservation. I said we were just married and had booked the Honeymoon Suite, he then checked with his colleague and repeated that we had no reservation. As I understandably became agitated my Wife asked for another room and he said there were no free rooms. He proposed that we could stand just inside the door, as he phoned a taxi to take us away. My wife was so distraught and mortified that she went to the disabled toilet and changed her wedding dress. Whilst my wife was changing a member of staff asked to speak to me. he said that they had made a mistake, that i had booked the room and that it was ready. I was so disguisted that i refused to stay, but my wife remarked that she was too tired. We stayed the night in the expensive Honeymoon Suite and received no explanation as to why the best night of our life had been ruined. I wrote a letter to the management whilst on honeymoon and have not yet received a reply or explanation. Our wedding took two years to plan and pay for, this hotel wrecked it in one night.
