As we are relatively new to the 'Forest' we are enjoying exploring its towns and villages. Last evening we decided to drive to Clearwell to have a meal, as we have previously sussed out a couple of the pub/restaurants there. By chance we dropped into the Tudor Farmhouse to see if they had a table for two. Well....we discovered what can only be described as a gem of a place...we were immediatley taken by the surroundings, the intimacy, and of course friendliness. To begin with, while enjoying a drink in the lounge area we were served some delicious 'amuse bouches'in addition to some nibbles. The menu looked absolutley mouthwatering and turned out to be just that. Everything we had from the delicious starters (Spicy Haddock Kedgeree Cakes and Duck Rilletes) to the Steak main courses were excellent. Even the button mushrooms were delicious (I'm normally quite picky about my mushrooms!). Also for a house wine the bottle of red we ordered was very good. Altogether an excellent evening, very good value for money and we will definitely be returning!
