Good Points: Staff were very friendly and helpful, good breakfast choice. Has a car park, and near some pretty places. Comfortable beds. Bad Points: Nasty D.I.Y decor, old fittings and although the place smelled strongly of air freshener the cleaning was perfunctory, towels & sheets were very clean but areas like around door handles obviously not cleaned for quite a while, shower mouldy. Shame as nice people. General review: We liked the place, in spite of it's outdated decor and none too clean rooms it has a kind of homely charm! Hope the owners have the sense to clean it up a bit, take down the posters and get out some neutral paint.

Good Points: THE HOTEL WAS FRIENDLY AND WE WERE ABLE TO COME IN LATE WITHOUT A PROBLEM. Bad Points: HARD PILLOWS, THE ROOM WAS VERY DATED AND COULD DO WITH UP DATING,THE TOILET SEAT TIPPED FORWARDS,THERE WAS NO WERE TO PUT OUR SPONGE BAG ETC,LIMITED HEAD ROOM IN OUR ROOM no4. General review: THE WEB SITE WAS A LITTLE OVER ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THIS GUEST HOUSE,COMPARED TO REALITY, WHICH WAS SOMETHING OF A LET DOWN,BUT OK FOR ONE NIGHT

Bad Points: The roooms smelt of smoke. This was the first time we had experienced this problem at this hotel. We were given the opportunity to change roooms and the one we selected did improve in the time we were there. We have suggested to the hotel that all rooms should be non smoking.

Good Points: Excellent hotel, efficiently run. Bad Points: Room looked out onto main road. Double glazing was installed to keep out road noise, but kept slipping open - window needs to be fixed so that it will stay shut. General Review: Nice hotel in pretty location. Friendly efficient staff. Excellent breakfast (the continental breakfast included some wonderful fresh fruit). Clean rooms, comfy beds.

"Clean, comfortable and friendly staff toward pets.",The only thing that would make it better would be a shower.,We have a large dog and find it difficult to find Hotels that accept this and Dalesgate Hotel made her very welcome which means alot to us when book accomodation.
