25th of March - Annunciation Day, Lady Day

25th of March is the 84th day of the year

Annunciation Day:
March 25th was for many centuries in Britain a hugely important date, for two reasons. Firstly it is The Feast of the Annunciation (though it is a moveable feast for some Christian denominations), in common parlance Lady Day, the date when for Christians the angel Gabriel revealed to Mary in Nazareth that she was now carrying Christ. Secondly, because the Christian era could be said to commence at that moment, for some it became the first day of the year, and was for much of the medieval period celebrated as such. Thus it became a significant day in the legal calendar, many rentals commencing then, the hiring of servants often done on that day, and the tax year starting (the jump of 11 days in 1752 when we moved from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar explaining why April 6th remains the start of our tax year).

Sorry, we dont have an origin for Lady Day
