Fir Tree Lodge is located on the edge of Swindon, Built in the 1930's it has only ever expanded now offering 14 rooms with a garden for guests use and parking for 13 cars. Recently installed CCTV monitoring system and fire alarm set ups. In as well as around Swindon there are many attractions and parks which can be visited easily. We have local woods, play parks, pubs, lakes, resturants, outlet village, town centre and other amenities. Looking a little further out of swindon you have places like Stone Henge, Barbury Castle, The Ridgeway, Cotswold, Bourton-on-the-water and Bowwood House. You'll never be lost for things to do and see in Swindon. The town is famous for the Great Western Railway works, which has today been brought alive at the award-winning museum STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway. Swindon is also enriched with Victorian parks and gardens, areas of extended woodlands, museums, galleries and centres of heritage like Lydiard House, an elegant Georgian abode set in rolling parkland. There are a number of museums and heritage sites celebrating Swindon's industrial past and for anyone interested in buildings and architecture, the National Monuments Record Centre should not be missed. And if our industrial heritage appeals to you, then you will want to check out the overflow facility of the Science Museum at Wroughton.
