We invite you to experience the year round luxury and warm welcome that Hillthwaite House has to offer. Our beautiful country house was built in 1899 as the six-bedroomed retreat of a Victorian Gentleman. Nestling in almost three acres of natural secluded gardens, in the heart of the English Lake District at Bowness on Windermere, it enjoys a truly superb elevated location. The Hotel was founded in 1971 and has already celebrated its Silver Jubilee under the same family ownership.

All our bedrooms are individually and tastefully furnished, some with superb views of Lake Windermere and the fells beyond. For that special occasion some of our rooms have the added luxury of a personal jacuzzi and four-poster bed. Which ever type of room you choose, you will find it comfortably appointed with colour television, tea/coffee tray, radio, direct-dial telephone and en-suite bathroom.

Good food is an important part of any holiday. Each evening our Chefs will offer a varied dinner of five courses, which are carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The Restaurant commands a glorious view of the Lake and hills to the west and this setting adds to the enjoyment of our superb cuisine
