Hotels in Bideford
Yeoldon House, an elegant Victorian 'gentleman's residence' now tastefully converted to a delightfully welcoming and relaxing 'country-house' hotel, lies at the end of a private drive, down the gentle side of the Torridge valley. Swing right at the end of the drive and, suddenly, you will see this imposing hotel and its sloping gardens overlooking the river.
Within the hotel, the cosy lounge immediately attracts, with its wealth of comfortable chairs and sofas. Here again there are books and guides a-plenty to browse through, and many knick-knacks to admire. This is the sort of lounge where you could easily spend many a relaxed hour, perhaps reading a book, chatting with friends or other guests, or drinking coffee after coffee. At the end of the lounge is the well-stocked licensed bar.
Outside the hotel are the lawns and gardens sloping down towards the river. A stroll up the private drive reveals a meadow where donkeys and ponies graze. You may just be lucky and see the resident buzzard or even a badger.
Ten individually decorated bedrooms ... each quite distinct in decor and each with its own charm and personal touches. The rooms vary from double-bedded to twin-bedded , and include a grand four-poster bed. All rooms have en-suite facilities, with digital television, tea & coffee making facilities, direct dial modem telephones and wi-fi available on request. All rooms also have central-heating, irons & ironing boards, and hair-dryers.
