The Holburne Museum houses the art collection of Sir William Holburne, a great collector of 19th century Bath. The collection is displayed in the magnificent rooms of an 18th century hotel and has been greatly expanded with landscapes by Guardi and Turner, and renowned portraits by Stubbs, Ramsay, Zoffany and Gainsborough. The Holburne Museum is a step back into Bath's age of elegance, when a visitor's day in the city combined bathing and dancing with a visit to Gainsborough's studio, the Wedgwood Shop and the Sydney Pleasure Gardens, in which the Museum is located. The Holburne Museum also has 3 temporary exhibitions per year.
