Didcot Railway Centre is a fascinating living museum of Britain's Great Western Railway heritage, where visitors can step back in time and experience the golden age of steam. Set on the site of the former Didcot locomotive depot, the Centre is home to an impressive collection of restored steam locomotives, historic rolling stock and original railway buildings.

The Great Western Railway established Didcot as an important engine shed in the early 20th century, and following the closure of the depot in 1965, the site was preserved by the Great Western Society. Today, the Centre offers visitors the opportunity to explore beautifully restored locomotives, ride on heritage steam and diesel trains (on operating days), visit the locomotive sheds, signal box and engine turntable, and discover the history of one of Britain's most celebrated railway companies.

The Centre provides an engaging day out for all ages, with interactive exhibits, demonstrations and special event weekends throughout the year featuring famous locomotives and themed railway celebrations.
