Guests are assured of a very warm welcome at the Guiting Guest House which is a delightful and tastefully restored 16th Century Cotswold stone former farmhouse with all modernised facilities. Everywhere there are exposed beams, inglenook fireplaces, and polished solid pine floors from the Wychwood Forest. The open fires create a welcoming atmosphere as guests are greeted with a cup of tea and perhaps a slice of homemade cake.Guiting is within very easy motoring distance of such places as Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Winchcombe, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick and Oxford. Just North of the village is the Cotswold Farm Park, home to the Rare Breeds Survival Trust which exists to preserve historic breeds of farm animals that might otherwise become extinct. Just a few miles away, the home of the Dent-Brockelhurst family is steeped in history. The castle apartments hold an impressive collection of paintings and antiques, while a permanent exhibition 'The Lace and times of Emma Dent' tells the story of the lady of the house in the Victorian Age. The award-winning gardens are delightful, spanning over 14 acres. This includes a vegetable plot with a selection of rare herbs and vegetables. A garden centre on site provides the opportunity to purchase a selection of plants from the estate. We are proud of the fact that Guiting Guest House has earned a reputation for the quality of the Evening meals which we serve by candle light. All the meals are prepared and presented by ourselves with the emphasis on freshness of local produce and clarity of taste. Evening meals are by prior arrangement and we do ask for at least 24 hours notice. The dining room has exposed beams from which hang a large collection of pitchers, jugs and cups from the famous English Potteries such as Wedgewood, Doulton, Moorcroft and Maclntyre. Please Note: We are a No-Smoking property. Pets accepted by arrangement. Check-In time: 16:30 and Check-Out time: 10:30.
