Northolt is a leafy London suburb with a history dating back as far as the Saxon Settlers who first came here. Agriculture played its part across the years and the town remained a smallish farming settlement right up until the early 20th Century. A visit today will reveal a charming Village Green which has a brook running through it, an impressive Marina where colourful boats are seen, and an ancient church dedicated to St Mary which dates back to the 14th Century, close by there are a choice of welcoming pubs to sample. There's a good range of local shops to browse, and a handy tube station which links with the city and all that it has to offer. There are several parks to enjoy, and even a chance to walk along the banks of the Grand Union Canal which journeys through here. There's a definite mix of architecture lining the roads from the ancient Saxon church, rows of 1930's semis, to an ornate Clock Tower built in 1937, the town was once famed for its Pony Racing in the 1920's and although the racing has stopped today's visitors are drawn here with it's ideal position being close to both Ealing and Harrow.
