The pretty historic market town of Wimborne Minster nestles in the picturesque water meadows of the rivers Stour and Allen. Its well preserved, historic townscape offers fascinating buildings, narrow streets and hidden courtyards to explore.

The twin towers of the Minster Church of St Cuthburga dominate Wimborne’s skyline. The church houses a unique Chained Library, the colourful Quarterjack and an unusual astronomical clock. Grand celebrations will be afoot in 2005 when the Minster celebrates its 1300th birthday!

The captivating model town, which depicts Wimborne in the 1950s, provides hours of fun for children and adults alike, as they compare the tiny buildings to those in the town today. The award-winning Priest’s House Museum is set in a 16th century townhouse with an enchanting English walled garden and there is a bustling market (every Friday – Sunday), Walford Mill Craft Centre and numerous speciality shops and boutiques for hours of browsing.

Winner of the regional ‘In Bloom Awards’ and Silver Gilt medallist in the national competition, Wimborne welcomes visitors each summer with a wonderful display of flowers. The town’s streets and small squares are also bought to life every June by hundreds of musicians and dancers for the colourful Wimborne Folk Festival, the largest event of its kind in southern England.

Only 1˝ hours drive from London, Wimborne is the ideal destination for that much needed holiday or short break.
