Parkham is a small picturesque village in North Devon, with pretty thatched buildings, and 15th Century Church of St James, situated just three miles from the spectacular Devonshire Coast, and is home to over seven hundred people. For a chance to explore the great outdoors there is the Tarka Trail and footpaths that lead their visitor on a journey of discovery through fabulous scenery. Time is reversed at 12th Century Hartland Abbey, or there is always Docton Mill dating far back in history to Saxon times, set within eight acres of woodland, ponds and streams, if that’s not enough water there is Spekes Mill Mouth Waterfall, which gushes swiftly over dark grey stone cliffs, the curved beach below only adds to the beauty of this spectacular sight. Smaller visitors are not forgotten with the Milky Way Adventure Park, where fun and memories of the treasured kind, follow shared moments in Pets Corner, Fantasy Farm, and Toddler Town, the Pidler Collection tells the interesting story of country life, and there is always the Archery Centre and Birds Of Prey that won’t fail to impress. Or perhaps a visit to The Big Sheep will please where Pony Rides, Duck Trials, and Sheep Races are the order of the day.
