Mousehole is an ancient fishing village in Cornwall, close to the Market town of Penzance. The village is home to 830 people with narrow cobbled lanes where Smugglers once roamed, peppered with Art Galleries, pubs, and cottages that will enchant any artist. The horse shoe harbour where brightly coloured boats and fishing fleet reflect on the water is a charming place to dwell. The two sandy beaches will beckon for any sunset, or the larger pebbled beach with rock pools where marine wonders lurk, will intrigue small explorers with a net. A walk along cliff paths where the views of the ocean steal your breath, and the view of St Clement’s Isle that was once home to a hermit, or there is always the magic of St Michael’s Mount nearby to explore. Your journey whether you walk the causeway and follow in ancient footsteps of pilgrims, or arrive by boat, will showcase the Medieval masterpiece of the Castle, or St Michael and All Angel’s where pilgrims have visited since the Middle Ages. For a glimpse into the past Pendeen Mining Museum has models, and a Jewellery workshop, or there is always the fabulous Geevor Tin Mine where an underground tour of this once working mine won’t fail to impress. Mousehole is a sparkling gem of the precious kind.
