Born 1881. Died 1953 - English philosopher and meteorologist.
Graduated from Cambridge in 1903. Attempted weather forecasting by using equations to predict weather conditions six hours ahead. Results were a failure but ideas formed basis for future weather prediction. Carried out original research on turbulence.
