Born 1914. Died 1994 - English biochemist and Nobel Prize winner.
Educated at Cambridge. Worked with A J P Martin developing methods for analysing aldehydes and hydroxyacids. Won Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1952 for their work. Elected FRS in 1950.
