We have been eating and drinking at the "Shoes" for over thirty years and have seen many changes, the last taking place some three years ago when the present owners took over, and I do not think it has been better. We live 10 km away and visit once or twice month. Looking only at the last three years I can remember only one occasion when something minor did not please me - and was put right immediately. I have found the service always to be good and all the staff courteous and helpful. The food has been excellent, the portions more than ample and prompt to arrive. Drinks cater for all tastes. I have no knowledge of the accommodation. The bar and restaurant prices are very reasonable. The setting, inside and out, is delightful. I shall continue to be a patron: I have no other connection with the "Shoes" or its staff

Lovely pub, friendly staff, good food loved the pea, ham & mint soup followed by the lamb. Too full up for a dessert.

We had a very pleasant stay the pub was really lovely, staff very friendly. The accomodation was basic bathroom needed a refurb, however it was clean. The restaurant was nice, unfortanetly we had to send our food back it was served up VERY rare (Duck & Steak) apart from that it was enjoyable but would not go back very little to do and a bit remote..

On a arrivel at the Four horseshoes myself and my family were warmly greeted, and shown to our room's, we were staying in the feature room which was delightful, i find it difficult to fault anything at the Four Horseshoe. The warm friendly family atomsphere was perfect for my husband, two children and myself. We only stayed for two evenings as we were visting friends, but we would definatly come back again. The staff where friendly and the food was very good tradional meals. Cannot fault it

My wife and I went there for lunch (my birthday). The service was slow and very poor (the wine was just left on the table with the cork wedged in the top, pre-lunch empty drinks glasses left on the table), the food was average at best (saute potatoes were in fact deep fried sliced potatoes and the pork medallions were tough and way overcooked). We were planning to visit again with a party of 10 but have made alternative arrangements!
