Good Points: Everything was neat and tidy, the staff most helpful, and there was a good and varied menu in the dining room, and being b&b was good value for money.
Bad Points: I would have liked another arm chair in bedroom, as an elderley couple we felt that was what we needed.

We went to the Metropole Hotel in Jersey for the very first time and had a great time. The hotel was clean and newly decorated. All areas were spotless. Rooms were clean and first class and very roomy, cleaned each day. The service in all parts of the hotel was first class. The meals were wonderful and there was plenty of food. Our kids had a ball. We loved it so much that we have booked to go again to Jersey and stay at the same hotel.

Following a visit to this hotel i wrote a letter of complaint regarding the complete lack of interest by staff regarding room requirements and
i had 3 different rooms including a handrail which came off the wall during use etc.
No one seemed in the least bit concerned and my
letter remains unanswered.
The food was good and so was the dining room service.
Make up your own mind!! but i will not be returning.

The Metropole Hotel described by Mr.Spivey cannot possibly be the same one where I have just spent a glorious week.
The only early morning noise that disturbed me was the sound of my own alarm clock.I found the food both plentiful and appetising and served by a cheerful and friendly waiter.Indeed all the Staff worked hard to ensure that my wife and I enjoyed our stay.I cannot understand Mr. Spivey's comment about the "narrow" street bearing in mind that much of it is one-way.
Our bedroom was clean and comfortable with a spacious bathroom and the Metropole's proximity to the beach at Havres de Pas and St. Helier town centre was an added feature which we liked.
But perhaps the biggest bonus was that we were fortunate to share our table with a delightful couple from N.Ireland.Mr.Spivey doubts that he will visit the Metropole again.Well we certainly will and the sooner the better

UNLESS THERE HAS BEEN A MAJOR REFURBISHMENT I'AM AFRAID MY WIFE AND I FOUND THE METROPOLE VERY DATED 1960'S. I LIKE A GOOD BREAKFAST TO START THE DAY ,THE FOOD WAS NOT PLENTIFUL OR GOOD.BUT OUR BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS THE PROXIMITY TO THE ISLANDS BUS TOUR GARAGES FIFTY YARDS UP THE STREET,( AND IT IS, JUST A NARROW ONE-WAY STREET) .THE NOISE EARLY MORNING REFUELLING THE OFTEN ELDERLY COACHES DID NOTHING TO IMPROOVE THINGS. ST HELIER IS THE ISLANDS MAIN TOWN SO IS VERY BUSY DURING THE DAY.IF EVER I DO VISIT AGAIN I'LL SLEEP SOMEWHERE ELSE SORRY METROPOLE.
