A hidden gem in East Sussex!! As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. We decided to have dinner at the Pub and were given the semi private table in the main room, which was really nice! Most of the reviews i had found on the net were written in 2006/7 so i was a little unsure about what to expect... I had after a lovely chat with the owner and his wife we found out that they had only just taken over for the past year or 2 and had gone to great lengths to turn the place around. It’s a very busy place and on Sunday it was near impossible to get a table so good job we got there early! As for the Hotel, our rooms had everything we could ask for! Décor is a standard Hotel style with a clean/fresh look feel and after finding out the new energy saving and eco-friendly wood burner they had installed – how can you put anyone down who does their bit for the environment as well as offering a lovely stay!! A nice little escape from the city so we have decided to make a monthly thing - table is already booked so we'll see you in a couple of weeks and make sure you stock up on the delsih homemade gravy and roasties because we've really been craving them!! :)

Good Points: The room/accommodation as it was seperate to the main building, and the breakfast. Bad Points: Poor service in the restaurant during both evening and breakfast service periods.
