This is a wonderful place, full of character, with a friendly atmosphere generated by the resident proprietors.
The room we stayed in was extremely clean, well furnished and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have stayed in.
The gardens are attractive, as is the 'Orangery' conservatory, and these are both available to residents.
Breakfast was imprssive, and well cooked!
A lovely place to stay!

This hotel is an absolutely stunning country house that has been painstakingly restored to its original condition; every detail is amazing the hotel from top to bottom is spotlessly clean (and smells nice) the rooms are well laid out with everything you could ask for from good beds and bedding to flat screen TV & DVDs even chocolates by the bed. The bathrooms are to the same standard as the main room including a selection of toiletries if you forget to bring them.
We went away for my wife’s birthday and stayed in the queen Margaret room (should be called suite not room it’s that big) and took a chilled bottle of champagne with us but didn’t drink it the first night so I put it in the sink to chill the next day and when we came back from our day out it was in an ice bucket full of ice this is the level of service we got.
The guys who run the hotel are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. Breakfast was very good and within five minutes walk there is a good pub for food an Indian restaurant even a chippy so the car can be left parked if you fancy a tipple. We booked again for the summer before we left so enough said try it
