We were very interested in this venue for our wedding, as its new and in stunning surroundings.
I emailed our required dates & asked for availability , aswell as further information. No reply was received, so after a week I sent it again.Being an eager bride to be I wanted to get our dream venue booked.
Eventually I received a reply inviting us to come along & get a feel for the place & discuss our wedding plans further.
Tithe Barn is the wedding venue, this is a converted barn so is in the farm yard , the Hall itself is further up a driveway. Guest to your wedding would not see or enter the hall, however you are permitted to have some pictures taken in the grounds and the hall itself.
The barn has been converted beautifully, although there are some finishing touches yet to be done.
The bar is fully licenced, although I can imagine it would be too small for wedding parties over 50 guests.
During the visit alot of reference was made to the lighting. Especially that it can change colour & that it can be done using remote devises. As impressive as this may be to some, it wasnt on the top of my list of requirements when planning a wedding. I later discovered that the lighting was installed by the Hall owners wifes company.
No red carpet is available in the barn , nor is there any other type of floor coverings. I was particularly wary of the sharp stone steps. A number of children & elderly relatives will be attending our wedding & this was a real cause of concern if someone was to fall on them.
All in all the barn had been converted to a good standard & when set out for a wedding Im sure it will be beautiful.
Accomodation for myself & bridesmaids to get ready in & obviously for the groom and myself was important. We were told a cottage would be available , someone is living in this so it wasnt possible to see. We were only assured it would be ready. No price could be given as that had not be decided on.
There is no catering included in the wedding packages offered, so an outside caterers needs to be contacted separately. They are based in Blackburn so would mean going over to have a meeting & tasting with them. No alternative caterers can be used.
I found this problematic, but could deal with it.
The wine however is supplied by Tithe Barn... confused yet ?
So next came entertainment. We were advised we could have our own DJ or band, but reccomended using our Ipod to plug into their system.
I was still was interested ,although a little disheartened to the basic element & the fact everything isnt organised as a whole package.
We sat down with Rebecca, who was very pleasant , to go through pricing. She didnt have the pricing or know what the rates would be. After 15 minutes she came back with a sheet of paper. For the date we were looking at it stated on the sheet it would be £1350 (this is just for venue hire).
Rebecca stated that they were last years prices, even though it hasnt been open & the first bookings can only be taken for May, so ours would be about £2000 rather than £1350.She advised us she would email us the correct prices.
No details were available to the deposits or even when the balance would be due.
It came as no surprise when Rebecca never emailed us with correct prices, no phone call to follow us up & see if we were interested.
This has worked out the best for us as I have found a fantastic venue that suits us perfectly & they made us feel very special on our visit.
I dread to think how wedding will be conducted at Browmshole Hall if they cant even tell you basic details like price. Good Luck to them , they will need it.

I have not visited but have recently become aware
that my ancestor, Edmund Parker, and family were
builders of Browsholme Hall and that descendants
have operated it since 1500's. A Robert Parker
immigrated to Virginia in 1600's and started the
Parkers in what is now USA!!
Would be great to visit it sometimes or even have
my family have a reunion there. But it is doubtful that will ever be feasible.
