This beautifully refurbished 17th century coaching inn offers luxury accommodation and dining of an exceptional quality in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The White Hart offers menus and a wine list to delight discerning tastes.

The inn started life in the 17th century as a rest stop and watering-hole for travellers. Situated in the old Roman settlement of Welwyn, it was positioned on the Great North Road between London and Cambridge, a route famous for its highwaymen. While the chances of being asked to ‘stand and deliver’ have long gone, the offer of excellent food and drink and a comfortable room for a restful night's sleep still exists in abundance.
